Then finish things off with another edition of Say Anything. All that and more on this brand new episode of the Simplistic Reviews Podcast.

As we close out our coverage of Fantasia 2021, Matt sits down with the writer/director of the surreal, and at times insane (in all the best ways) film, "Hotel Poseidon."

Matt and Stef chat about inspirations and how his film crawls under your skin and stays there with you from start to film.

On this Simplistic Sit-Down, Fantasia 2021 Edition, Matt sits down with Rob Jabbaz, the director of the new Taiwanese film, "The Sadness," which made it's North American premier at the 2021 Fantasia Film Festival.

The film is a blood-splattered feature in a parallel Taiwan where an unknown virus has taken hold of society where there is no quarter from violence and destruction.

Rob and Matt chat about what it was like to shoot in Taiwan during the Covid-19 pandemic, how one fateful night during a screening at Fantasia made him want to start making his own films, and much more.

Hard Hunted | 1993 ‧ Action ‧ 1h 37m

An international arms dealer will stop at nothing to retrieve a stolen Chinese nuclear relay hidden in a jade Buddha figurine. It's up to a group of undercover federal agents stationed in Hawaii to stop it falling into the wrong hands. (From IMDB)

A long lost podcast from 2018 has been found. Today is a treat of a commentary, first it is a real retro of a cast from a simpler time and more importantly a prequel to one of our most loved films ever, Fit to Kill by our favorite director Andy Sidaris.

So sit back and enjoy some babes, bullets and hot tubs!

This is your spoiler notice for this podcast.

Another 15 min podcast is here, one we didn't think would ever happen after 2016 flop of a film: Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad (2021) is a soft reboot that happens to be a semi-sequel and you know what we enjoyed this one...and yet it flopped at the box office...get ready for the REBOOT!

Note to self never do another WB movie on this damn site again. You will never understand the copyright strikes WB hands for reviewing their stupid films. Go suck an egg WB!

August is here and the Simplistic Reviews Podcast is back to finish out the summer. This month, the boys discuss the future of the MCU, Popeyes Chicken, the idiot who spoiled the finale of Loki for Matt & DJ, Justin's kinship with the show Luther, Papa New Guinea, treats with names that lean heavily toward sexual innuendo, the ending of Grease, and so much more. Stick it in your earholes, press play, and enjoy the hi and low jinks.

We are back with a new Amir Shervan film. Since the passing of Richard Donner we figured a knockoff of Lethal Weapon would be perfect.

Don't have 15 minutes? I don't believe you! Today we give our 15 minutes on the classic film series, Lethal Weapon.

Welcome to Simply 15 Classic Edition. Yes we're continuing this gimmick but only because of the love we have for the great Richard Donner.

Thank you Richard for all the wonderful movies.

    Lethal Weapon (1987)
    Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)
    Lethal Weapon 3 (1992)
    Lethal Weapon 4 (1998)

Lethal Weapon is an American buddy cop action-comedy media franchise created by Shane Black. It focuses on two Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives, Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh. The franchise originally consisted of a series of four films released between 1987 and 1998, and later a television series which aired from 2016 to 2019. All four films in the series were directed by Richard Donner and also share many of the same core cast members, while the television series recast the main roles with younger actors instead. Though the first film was not explicitly a comedy, the later films and the television series gradually became comedic in nature.

It's America's birthday so the boys at Simplistic Reviews are throwing a party full of patriotism and pride and...potshots at Hollywood and painful impressions and petty arguments about Batman films. After the opening send-up on Top Gun, the boys get theoretical with another edition of Believable Or Bullshit. Julie's latest diary entry follows that and then the return of one of our favorite games...Simplistic Fisticuffs.

All that and more on this bottle rocket of an episode of the Simplistic Reviews Podcast.

The Pit | 1981 ‧ Horror ‧ 1h 36m

A solitary and strange preteen boy wreaks revenge on his harassers when he makes a disturbing discovery in the depth of a forest. (From IMDB)

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. Today we go out to the woods and play around a pit with a mystery of which we haven't encountered with before. Let's all spend some quality time together and throw all of our problems into this hole in the ground. Problems, a hole... no this isn't about Shia LaBeouf.

Welcome to Simply 15 Classic Edition. Yes another gimmick from Simplistic Reviews...we don't like ourselves either.

Don't have 15 minutes? I don't believe you!

Today we give our 15 minutes on the classic, Tango & Cash.
1989 ‧ Comedy/Buddy cop ‧ 1h 44m

Police officers Ray Tango (Sylvester Stallone) and Gabe Cash (Kurt Russell) are narcotics experts working to bring down drug lord Yves Perret (Jack Palance). In an attempt to stymie their efforts, Perret sets up Tango and Cash, making it look as if they've killed an FBI agent. Arrested and put in prison, the two cops formulate an escape plan and, once out, team up with Tango's exotic dancer sister, Katherine (Teri Hatcher), in order to clear their records and take down Perret once and for all.

Yo June! On this latest edition of the Simplistic Reviews Podcast, the boys discuss everything from Woody Allen to Woody from Toy Story...from Henry Golding to Henry Cavill...from Willy Wonka to Big Willy Smith. All that, several Real American jibes at the classic GI Joe animated series and underhanded jokes at Steven Seagal's expense on episode 160 of the Simplistic Reviews podcast.

AND...If you want to sing along to the opening song, here are DJ's alternative lyrics to the G.I. Joe theme:

DJ's Alternative Lyrics To The G.I. Joe Theme Song

Crashing through the skies,
comes a fearful cry.
Cobra! x2

(CHORUS OVERLAPPING)
Cobra! x2

Armies Of the night,
Evil taking flight.
Cobra! x2

(CHORUS OVERLAPPING)
Cobra!
Ow! My throat!

Nowhere to run,
Nowhere to hide!
Panic spreading far and wide,
Who can turn the tide?

(CHORUS)
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
G.I. Joe is there!
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
They cause their share of damage, to be fair!
Fighting for freedom wherever there's trouble,
And causing mayhem!
We put alarming faith in them!

Can the world oppose,
Deadliest of foes.
Cobra! x2

(CHORUS OVERLAPPING)
I'm coughing blood!
This really hurts!

Joes will risk it all,
To end the evil call of,
Cobra! x2

(CHORUS OVERLAPPING WITH COUGH)

They never give up,
They never say die.
Walking tall with banners high,
They sound the battle cry!

(ALPINE OVERLAPPING)
Leroy Jenkins!

(CHORUS)
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
G.I. Joe resists!
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
Your government's funding this!
Fighting for freedom wherever there's trouble,
Over land and sea and air!
They're why we cut your Medicare!

(NARRATOR)
G.I. Joe is the code name for American's daring, highly trained special mission force. Even though they consist of half-dressed karate experts, Native Americans with attack eagles, and guys really committed to sports motifs. Their purpose? To defend us from Cobra. A ruthless terrorist organization with really good branding. I mean, I wouldn't wear an al Qaeda t-shirt, but I'd rock the hell out of that Cobra logo.

(CHORUS)
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
Although many are foreign!
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
Seriously, check their origins!
Fighting for freedom wherever there's trouble,
They're one hell of a team!
A jingoistic wet dream!

(COBRA COMMANDER OVERLAPPING)
Cobra! I can't see shit in this goddamn mask!

(CHORUS)
G.I. Joe!
A real American hero,
One guy has a talking bird!
G.I. Joe!

Marked For Death | 1990 ‧ Action ‧ 1h 33m

A retired DEA agent is out to hunt down and take out a Jamaican drug posse that has targeted he and his family for murder. (From IMDB)

For some odd reason this is our 3rd Steven Seagal movie. And this one comes with bad Jamaican accents from both the actors and us. It's got a good kill count so we have that going for us.

A police woman, expert and instructor in martial arts, leaves the city to stay with her dad, sheriff in a town with peace and quiet - or so she thinks. She gets plenty opportunities to show her martial arts skills. (From IMDB)

China O'Brien was one of the hardest movies to find, yet one of the best movies we ever watched...we'll in terms of fighting since the acting and story is nothing much to write home about. But damn those fight scenes are amazing. We can only hope the sequel lives up or excels in the fighting category.

Since this film is so hard to find we will upload some fighting scenes for you to see on our YouTube channel. Also, in our video version of this podcast you'll see a few fights appear as we watch.

Grab that popcorn, hold on to your peg of a hand and long live our Queen, Cynthia Rothrock! One of the best action stars...ever!

Break your New Year's resolutions early and enter the world of the Simplistic Reviews podcast. This month, the boys celebrate the end of 2020...briefly. They then delve into what dessert they are gonna gorge themselves on to assuage their depression from the prolonged doom of the pandemic. But don't worry...it's all fun and games as they play four of their favorite movie games to entertain you:

1. Take The F%*king Elephant...a game based on guessing the eerily similar films of Liam Neeson.
2. Simplistic Titles...a game based on figuring out which films Valentine describes is real or fake.
3. Simplistic Death...a game based on guessing a film based only on the description on how the bad guy dies in the end.
4. Simplistic Switcheroo...a game in which the gang theorizes which actor could do another actor's career better.

All that and so much more on this Auld Acquaintance Episode of the Simplistic Reviews Podcast.

To close out the year, we thought it would be fun to look back on all the sketches we've done in 2020. Julie is your guide as we go from a John Rambo-esque rant on the Star Wars Cinematic Universe, to the two part Sesame Street Syndicate sketch, to He-Man and the Transformers messing about, to Doctor Doom dentistry, to Scream Shenanigans, to Home Alone fallout, and all the great sketches in between...with a little behind the scenes stuff thrown in. So sit back, relax, and enjoy one last silly show before the year is out.

We love our horror and holiday movie commentaries each year and this one has been on the list. Now we finally get to cross it off...no killer Santa, no killer Elf's...Killer Gingerbread!

An evil yet adorable Gingerbread man comes to life with the soul of a convicted killer - this real life cookie monster wreaks havoc on the girl who sent the killer to the electric chair. Oh and that Ginger is Gary Busey...yep that Busey.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Holiday Hijinks come once a year, and with The Simplistic Reviews here, you should have no fear!

After all the good tidings 2020 has given us, its time to head to The First Korean Church of SR as confessional gets sexy in the newest segment; "Simplistic Confessional with Father Polizzi."

Blue Collar Comedy and The Kings of Comedy talk, Matt giving people their signs, DJ creaming over the life's work of Aaron Sorkin, and so much more in this festive edition of the highest rated podcast of recently divorced dads who are planning on creating an OnlyFans Page to pay for their child support; The Simplistic Reviews Podcast.

A James Bondish spy and his female assistant infiltrate a group of South American Nazis who have kept Hitler alive until they take over the... using the ultimate weapon.

We are back watching another terrible action film of the 80s. Today, we celebrate the great Sir Sean Connery by watching a knockoff Bond film that is worse in every way you could possibly think off. (Don't worry we will watch the other shitfest in this series).

Trivia: I believe this film is the first film to make the star, the least entertaining person in the film. Maybe it was the actor who just seems not to really want be here. His character seems to just get lost in the story, almost how lost we got watching this damn cluster fuck. Oh and yeah he's "partner" is a baboon.

Let's do this!

Batman, the Joker, Ra's Al Ghul, Walter Vinci from First Time Watchers...seriously, a whole bunch of people show up on this special Election Edition of the Simplistic Reviews podcast. The boys politic about Hollywood news in the return of Can You Dig It. Julie's Diary reveals your favorite announcer's stance on the upcoming election...kinda. And the boys pick the winners to a couple of battles to the death in another round of Simplistic Fisticuffs. So do your constitutional duty and listen to this brand new episode of the Simplistic Reviews podcast.
